Business Immigrant
Canada is looking for successful
business persons with funds to invest and experience in running a
business. Different selection criteria apply to investors,
entrepreneurs and self-employed immigrants.
Entrepreneur Category
Those wishing to come to Canada, as entrepreneurs must
demonstrate their intentions and ability to establish, purchase or
invest in a business. The conditions placed on the visa can be
removed when the applicant after the time period allowed in the visa
establishes that:

has invested in a business or established a business |

has created at least one job for a Canadian. |
INVESTOR CATEGORY
An Investor is defined as a person who has acquired through his
own endeavor prescribed funds in this category. Experienced business
people are provided with a vehicle to immigrate to Canada to create
substantial benefit to Canadian economy by making substantial
investment.
In accordance with the new
regulations, the federal government will act as an agent on behalf
of the provinces and the territories, which will determine where to
invest the money. There is an increase in the minimum investment to
$400,000 for all investors. The minimum net worth required of the
investor will be $800,000. The immigrant investment is now secured
by the provinces and territories against loss.
SELF EMPLOYED
The applicant in this category must demonstrate an intent and desire
to create employment for themselves. The applicant is expected to
contribute to the Canadian economy or to Canada's Art and Culture.
Farmers, sportsmen, painters, artist, sculpturist fall in
self-employed category.
